Like all Scandinavian capitals Copenhagen is an expensive place. The Hotel Amager is one of the few budget options in town (well, it still required a fairly big budget).

The prime selling point of this hotel is its location. The city centre is a 20-minute walk, or 5-minute bus ride away. The trip to the centre passes through Christiania. This seedy/bohemian/hippie/drugs infested/historic (circle applicable) neighbourhood is a sight in itself.

The hotel offers spaceous rooms, with all the usual amenities. The hotel also features a bar, which, surprisingly, still allows people to smoke. This bar is also the place where breakfast is served in the mornings, and the smell of stale beer and cigarettes is not particularly good for the appetite.

That said, if you just need a bed for the night at a location close enough to the city, then this certainly beats the overpriced Hiltons of the world.
