Hotel Alhambra Palace Granada Reviews
Comfortable hotel with great view Dec 20, 2010
This hotel gives excellent views of the city center. The view is almost 180-degrees from the balcony in the rooms. The decor is Moorish inspired, but not overpowering. Staying here, I felt a connection between the hotel and the Alhambra just up the road. The rooms here are spacious as well as the bathrooms. Both of which has a door that can be opened to look out on to the city center and beyond. There is free WiFi, you just have to ask for the password from the front desk. The WiFi is faster than average than other public / semi-public WiFi with a strong connection. The toiletries that are included are great. Even includes a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a nail file.
The location is of this hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Alhambra, but away from the city center. There is a bus stop nearby that can take you down to the city center for about 1.20 Euros each way; you can walk, but it's quite a ways. There is not much else around the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and was able to answer any questions we had. All of them spoke relatively good English, though underestimated the time of the drive for our next destination (which happened quite a bit during my holiday in Spain).
Overall, if I were to visit Granada again, I would stay somewhere closer to the city center but that is because I don't really feel like I would need to see Alhambra again. If you only have one night in Granada and are going to visit the Alhambra, I would recommend staying here. The view is well worth the stay. Just ask that your room has a city view. I did not have to ask, as it was off-peak season and they were not full. Other than the location, I don't see why anyone would not want to stay here.

Amazing views of Granada and the surrounding mountains since the hotel is perched on a hill.
Rooms are big and spacious.
Alhambra Palace is within a 10 minute walk.
The hotel is isolated from everything else in Granada, its about a 30 minute walk to get to the city center.
There are no interesting or good restaurants near the hotel.
The restaurant in the hotel is very expensive and the menu was disappointing.
I was in Granada for two days, so when I was done with the Alhambra each day I had to walk from the hotel down to the city center to do anything else which was kind of disappointing.
