Hotel Agadir Meknes Reviews
Cheap hotel in a central location Nov 18, 2010
This was probably the cheapest hotel in Meknes, as I paid 50 dirhams for one night here. This is very cheap, even for Moroccan standards, so naturally, the place was full of natives and no tourists at all. You do have to pay a few dirhams extra for the shower.
The location is excellent, very near to the medina and all the main sites that you could possibly want. This will save on taxi fares, so this is an added bonus whhen choosing this hotel.
The cleanliness is exactly what you expect from this type of hotel. It's clean enough but not spotless. Although you don't feel dirty staying there, it's definitely not the sort of place to have a relaxing, pampered and comfortable stay either.
The amenities are basic. My room consisted of a bed and blankets, a table and chair, some hooks and a bathroom sink and mirror. The door have secure locks on them too, so no need to worry on that level either. The toilets are the old squat down style, and the showers, as mentioned, need to be bought for a few dirhams more. No breakfast facilities are available, but there are plenty of cheap cafes nearby.
The service was fine. They do speak French, so a few basic words of French are very useful indeed. The guy at the reception was also useful in giving me some tips about where to go and stuff, in basic French of course!
Overall, the key factor you would consider is the price when choosing this hotel. It certainly is the cheapest in the city, and probably in the majority of places in Morocco. So if all you are after is a cheap bed in a central location, this is the place!
