Hotel 140 Boston Reviews
Great Location, comfortable bed Oct 09, 2009
This hotel is in an excellent location. It is considered a budget hotel in Boston, but it was still quite expensive by our standards. It's a very simple hotel, with a comfortable bed and small, but adequate bathroom. A lot of the reviews complain about the size of the bathroom, but I've been to Europe and seen smaller bathrooms than the one in our room. The hotel does have a institutional feel because the hallways are tile and very bright and shiny- very unlike a hotel. This hotel also has some kind of agreement to house disadvantaged people, so there were a few very odd characters in the elevator and lobby- but they were harmless enough.
The only reason I'd stay here again is because of the location. It's about a block or two from the Copley Square "T" station, which made it soooo convenient, plus there was a Starbucks and a Borders around the corner which is plus for my husband and I. Part of the Boston 2009 travel blog |

Great position but crap room Aug 26, 2009
I have been in this hotel the first half of August 2009 while visiting Boston and the Coast of Maine.
This hotel is in a great position 1 minute walk from the Back Bay underground station and 5 minutes walk from the Boston Common (where the freedom trail begins) and the Theatre District. It's located in an historical building with a strong character and the rates are reasonable. Hygine and cleanliness are good. My main issue with this hotel is: The rooms are super small. The bed is tiny and in no other hotel would be sold as a double bed. The shower's water mixer didn't work properly and the handy man hasn't been able to fix it on time. The aircon in room was kind of noisy. The breakfast sucks: one lousy muffin and 1 small coffee or tea (no milk, only cream). I have seen worse but I certainly wouldn't go back! |

Lovely, simple European-style hotel Jul 22, 2008
Very nice accommodations in a historical, multi-use building just steps away from Copley Square. Smaller rooms, more in line with European hotels, with simple furnishings and private bathrooms. The building also houses a YWCA and the Lyric Stage...read entire review at TravelPost.com

You've been warned Aug 23, 2007
I booked with this hotel because of the rate compared with other hotels in the area. The old adage "you get what you pay for" describes this hotel to a tee.
I am writing this review as I *don't* sleep at hotel 140. Why don't I sleep? Well, for ...read entire review at TravelPost.com |

After getting a bit lost and turned around we found our Hotel, the Hotel 140. (see review). We got in quite late to our hotel and although we were still on California time, we turned in early to get an early start on the Freedom Trail the next morning.… Here we come, New England!! |
