Lively hostel in Prague Jul 30, 2011
Firstly, if your looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy your stay in Prague, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want to meet other travelers over more than a few beers in a cozy, personal, and awesomely dungeon-like bar, this is your place. HostelOne may not be an all out party hostel, but the opportunities are there waiting to be seized if that's your forte. The staff are extremely personable and frequently take guests out to various nightspots around the city, and are just as happy to point you in the right direction to seek out your own late night adventure. The staff is knowledgeable about the area, and upon arrival personally mark out restaurants/stores/landmarks of interest on a map. What really made the stay for me was the hostel manager taking a few friends and I to see the lovely town of Kutna Hora, about an hour's train ride from Prague. It was great being able to interact and have a near private tour of the town without the usual humdrum's of a large walking tour for tourists; it was more like walking around with a friend who just happened to be super knowledgeable about the town, as well as where to grab a few good Czech beers. The hostel location is a bit far from the main tourist attractions, but I found this quite refreshing. The cost of food in restaurants and stores around the hostel was at least half as expensive as shops near the old town. The atmosphere in the area around the hostel is delightfully non-touristy as well. When checking in, you receive a key for the front door of the hostel, as well as a separate key for your specific suite, this did a great deal towards making you feel confident in the hostels security. The rooms are decently roomy and the bathrooms more than satisfactory. All in all, HostelOne Prague was a great hostel, and one I plan on returning to the next time I'm in Prague.

Nice, clean and fun hostel Aug 02, 2011
Hostel One Prague is located in a quiet street a bit outside of the center. Still it is within walkable distance from downtown (Powder Tower area) and the tram stops nearby too. The area is filled with supermarkets and cheap, nice restaurants and bars where lots of locals go.

The hostel is quite big and has a bar in the basement. It has a computer room, a common room and a guest kitchen so in general it's not a problem to meet people. I got a 6 bed dorm which had an ensuite bathroom, a mezzanine and a kitchen corner (not working at the time). It was clean and big enough for 6 persons and their luggage.

The staff was nice and friendly, giving plenty of info on transport, places to visit and also taking people out every night after the basement bar had to close.

I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend the place!
