Good hostel for young people Feb 16, 2011
Hostel Vegas is about what you might expect from a hostel. One of the nice things is they have 24 hour reception, so if you are arriving at a weird hour there will be someone to let you into the hostel. Bathrooms are communal, as are rooms, but in standard hostel arrangement lockers are provided for each person's things. There is a washer/dryer, TV, and computer for you to use. A refrigerator serves beverages for a nominal fee. Limited breakfast food is available also, mostly free of charge, but snack foods, also available, must be purchased. There is a nice balcony to look out over surrounding buildings also. Location is fairly central and convenient to most attractions.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, and good ambassadors for the city. Every one of them is local and can give you good things to do, places to see, foods to eat, and free maps. Some staff may offer to personally accompany you to show you the city if they are not working a shift when you plan to explore. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable in Bratislava. And of course they will happily teach you a little bit of Slovak if you just ask.

All in all a solid hostel at a very affordable price. It's not high class, it's a hostel, but you'll enjoy a place that the temperature is kept right, the showers have warm water, fresh clean linens are given, and your things are safe. Plus the service is quite nice too.
