…of a bit rocky as it took Caro and myself the best part of two hours to coordinate our meeting which we eventually managed at the Tango hostel on Pietras. We had a strol alongside Puerto Madero before having some excellent food at the http://www.faenahotelanduniverse.com hotel designed by Philippe Starck himself. Just out of this world! And then came Thursday.....I still hadn't met all of my room mates… Pursuit of happiness....

We checked into Hostel Inn Tango City without a reservation, although during peak season i am sure this would not be possible.  This is by far one of the best hostels i have found.  The staff is excellent.  Their recommendations were all great, they are very… Mmmm lomo

We decided to stay in San Telmo, the old cultural part of the city and found a great hostel called Ayre Portenos. Every wall and door has a giant murals painted on it and every where you look was figures are staring down at you dressed ready for Tango.......actually that sounds a little scary but it´s not.  I did however always make sure I got back to the hostel before night fall. There are so many things to see in Buenos Aires which you can pick up information easily from any guide book. Some of my favourite places and things were the Recoleta Cemetery, Casa Rosaria, Congress Buildings, San Telmo sunday market and watching a tango… The capital

)In the evening, I went with a group from my hostel (and the 3 other HI hostels in town) to a tango experience. We had wine and got to know each other (yes I actually drank some and managed to get it down with out making a complete fool of myself) then we were taken to a dance studio where we had a tango… Meghan Learns to Tango
