Where do you we start? The staffs on arrival are great, but not great at telling guests to be quiet after 11pm (and there are signs saying quiet down after 11pm!) Rooms have paper thin walls, so can easily hear all the noise from the kitchen, common room & bar!
Also the smell of smoke goes through the place. A little bit concerned about the dead bugs which are over the place and the sticky floor in the private room! Didn't get any sleep here, so after the 2nd night we checked out & stayed in a budget hotel instead! Come here if you want to make noise, but not sleep. Worst hostel ever & I stay in hostel all the time. Breakfast is ok, with toast & cereal but this is based in the bar where most of the smoke is. Oh, did I mention that half of the toilets or the showers which all the guests have to share isn't working half the time or is just dirty! One member of staff tries to keep the place clean, but after an hour the whole place smells like sewage and the floors all slippery, wet which can become an hazard. Also there are some sticky patches on the floor as well in the rest rooms. You have been warned! Part of the Danik's Poland Adventure's travel blog

fun hostel with friendly staff Jul 20, 2008
I spent over a week in this hostel when I was traveling in Krakow in late April. It's located around 10 - 15 minute walk away from the city centre. The location is convenient, because there are 2 groceries just around the corner and the train station is close by.
I had a very good experience of the hostel, because it was very clean and quiet, so I slept very well there. The staff was also very friendly and the gave me and the friends of mine advices where to go and what to see in Both Krakow and outside the city. Like in many hostels there was a bar in the hostel premises, but the prices of the wines and drinks were rather high there (at least compared to some bars in Krakow). I was delighted though to notice that there was a guitar and a piano in the bar that I could play in my lazy moments. |
