Hostel El Granado Granada Reviews
Jun 21, 2011
This place is a little tricky to find as it's tucked away down a quite side street but it's worth seeking it out and it's within a stone's throw of the centre. It was pretty quite while we were there and we had a three bunk dorm all to ourselves.
The hostel is set around a secluded courtyard of an old converted house, parts of which date back to the 13th Century but it's been kitted out with all of the latest mod-cons and is spotlessly clean with each dorm sharing a bathroom with 1-2 showers and a wc and basin, so you pretty much feel like you have your own ensuite. The only weird thing is how it's been laid out as our room felt a bit like a thoroughfare as other people needed to walk through our dorm to get to theirs. That said massive lockers are provided to fit a large rucksack in so you don't ever feel as though security is an issue.
The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable giving us the low down on things to do, see and where to eat and provided us with a great free (and expansive) map and can also recommend great places to watch Flamenco should you want to see a performance.
Breakfast and internet are free and there's also free wifi if you have your own laptop, iPhone etc. A 24 hour supermarket is also close by should you need to nip out and pick up supplies.
All in all I really liked this hostel and I'd definitely go back there should I make it back to Granada.
