This colorful hostel, a former Prison, is a simple and clean choice for travelers. It is also budget friendly, though I opted to stay here because of its unique character and previous identity.

Hostel Celica's rooms are all different, though each has a jail cell door in addition to a solid door as you enter. Keep in mind that you will share a bathroom (on each floor). Also included is breakfast, internet access, games and parking. You may walk throughout Ljubljana from Hostel Celica.

  Lo primero que hice al llegar fue ir a buscar un Hostel bastante famoso en la ciudad, que en su día fue cárcel militar: Celica Hostel . Se ubica en el original Barrio de Metelkova , parecido a lo que es Cristiania en Copenhague. Aquí hasta hace poco más de una década se ubicaban… Zagreb, la ciudad de las dos colinas. There the weather was ok, no more rain, n we finally arrived to the Celica Hostel (a former Jail) We went for a siesta, then eat a 3.50 euros meal so good with 2euros Pint biers! It was still raining in Slovenia, so we just stayed dat night at the hotel with some frenchies n english dudes, drinking beers… Rain, shitty weather n Ljubljana

Such a nice smallish city to wander around, friendly locals and a wonderful hostel called Celica which I definitely can recommend. Although as it features in LP it is quite booked up. It is a former prison and all the cells have been converted into rooms but with different designs in each one. Down beside the river in the middle… Charming riverside city
