Lazy and unfriendly staff, no promised internet for the 2 days there in May. NO TOILET SEATS. Other hostelers complained saying it was their worst hostel experience. It's the Only hostel for a long ways around, and they seem to know it, and figure why bother with anything. BUT, the place has a Milion dollar VIEW from the patio. Awesome, and food store just right around the corner, and near bus stop which NOBODY including hostel could describe, and of course the bus drivers have never heard of the place! It is at the far NW end of town on the main road. Its where the very local bus heads down into the town and the beach. Anyway, beware of this place, guard up, but enjoy the view. A+

So as this was the only hostel in Positano, i was wondering if they would actually try and be decent. I arrived at night by bus, and was happy to see that with all the stairs and hills in Positano, the hostel was right by the bus stop. Which after a train ride from Naples to Sorrento and a bus ride to Positano, carrying up your backpack on those stairs in Positano would be roug. The guy who checked me in was nice, although did not know that much about the town. There are restaurants close by, a store and post office. The room itself was ok, it was clean, yet full. I did get to see their 20 bed room, now that is a full room. I shared a room with 7 other people, beds were average in comfort. There are a couple of storage lockers in the room. The bathroom was clean and there is one for guys and girls. Breakfast is not free, but is homemade by the staff, and its pretty good and a great change from the usual hostel breakfast of bread and jam. The view is by far the best thing! The hostel has a terrace with a view of Positano and the water that was like nothing I have seen. The bad thing about the terrace is that you can't just hang out and talk to people on it or bring your own food to eat on it, you have to buy something from their bar to hang out on it , or buy their breakfast.

There is a curfew, 1pm when I was there and a lockout from 11am-3pm. Overall, it was good and if I went back I would consider going back to this hostel, but I would maybe look at some other options first, as this hostel was not that great.

The staff was VERY lethargic and were not helpful at all! The cave which they wanted to stick us in(large dorm room 20 beds) looked as if it required bottled O2 just to survive a night back in the deep dark corner(there is no windows or ventilation).
Had a hassle with the amount of nights staying even though we had a conformation from them for a set amount of nights and price. Promised free wifi, but this never came about for the entirety of the stay; even after offering to help them get it up and going.
Hostel had a very cluttered feeling about it! In the entire place there was one toilet seat in all the WC's!!
Best part was sitting out on the balcony listening to the other guests tell us about how bad of a stay they have had..while doing this I look in to see the hostel staff all sitting around a table eating a grand feast. At this time I notice one of the guys at the table has a handgun tucked away in a holster in the back of his pants. That's a first for me at a hostel.
Nice things:
Food store is below and just down the street. There is an amazing restaurant straight up the side of the hill from the hostel; Da Costantino Ristorante. If you stay at this hostel make sure you hit this restaurant one evening!
Hostel is close to a bus stop; but don't count on the bus driver to know where the hostel is.

Oh, and nothing beats sitting out on the balcony during the day and listening to those lovely buses drive by right under you blasting their horns as they go around the corner...Haha!

If I went back I would look into other options besides this place.

I believe that this is the only hostel in Positano, so it is a bit pricier than normal hostels. I stayed in a 16 person mixed dorm room that smelled like mold. Fortunately, I didn't have to spend too much time in the actual room because there is a wonderful balcony that overlooks the ocean and city. There are plenty of tables and chairs on the balcony, so it is a natural place to meet with other travelers and hang out. When it comes down to it, this hostel is all about location, and its location cannot be beat.
