Central Station Hostel Belgrade May 01, 2008
Central Station Hostel lies just across the street from the train station and bus station. The building the hostel is located in is quite old and it’s regarded as a cultural monument and a city landmark. Although its not renovated on the exterior, inside it’s clean and nice. Being just by my self, I booked a double room and paid 15 Euros a night, so basically I only paid one bed and got the whole room just for my self. They also offer 4, 6, 8, 10 bed rooms (all air conditioned), separate bathrooms and showers, free internet, a wee kitchen, no curfew. Most important was that everything was clean and the girls from the hostel were friendly and helpful.
As I said, most the city’s main tourist attractions are in walking distance and I didn’t have to take any cabs or taxies when leaving / coming back. Part of the Belgrade - the white city travel blog |

So, I arrived in Belgrade train station armed with my map and had actually managed to book a hostel ahead of time (random act of organisation) and ready to take on Serbia again. My map was kind of dodgy, the area that the hostel was in wasn’t actually shown on there so I had drawn in it myself… Apparently map my drawing… Never leaving Serbia... |

Well, after 20 minutes or so, of walking down different streets and them being wrong, I finally located the street, yes! Ten minutes more, walking, and I found the sign for the hostel… Beograd.......fortress, crafts, panoranic views, and murals, what a day! |

Our hostel, according to directions was across the road from the train station. It was called Downtown Belgrade backpackers hostel. We found it straight away. Old building, 6 floors up and the lift not working. Fantastic. I know we were early as it was around 8am, but it was worth… Belgrade, Serbia |

So I arrived in Belgrade in the morning around 10 o’clock, went at the hostel, which was right across the train station. By the way, the train and bus station are in the center of the city so if you arrive there, you are in walkin’ distance of the city center and most of the places worth seeing. The hostel… Belgrade - The white City |
