Hostel Backpackers' Lounge Belgrade Reviews
Backpackers refuge May 16, 2011
Backpackers lounge is a very centrally located accommodation choice in the city of Belgrade. It is not a huge city so most of the places of interest can be travelled en foot. Cika Ljubina street and the surrounding areas are pedestrian streets with a selection of cafes and shops.
I stayed in the hostel for 10Euro a night in a mixed 8 bed dorm. Under bed lockers are provided free of charge and so are linens for the bed and a towel. The bathrooms are communal. The overall cleanliness of the hostel was average but the dorms can get quite messy, depending on your room mates. I was there for 5 nights in early May and nearly every night the hostel was booked up.
Natalia, she worked the reception was a fountain of knowledge of the city. She knew all the places to go and was willing to help at all hours of the day. She would even join us for a cup of tea (provided free of charge by the hostel) or a beer in the evenings.
The other travellers were a varied mix bunch of people. Everyone friendly and sociable. There was two separate lounge areas providing a TV, computer with free wi-fi internet and CD player. The kitchen however was very very small and only once did I witness anyone actually cooking in there.
