Cheap and close to the bus station May 17, 2009
I would consider Maximiliano more of a cheap hotel than a hostel, because it lacks a thriving common area, a real kitchen, and dormitory accommodations. But the owners are friendly and they do try to be helpful. The price is among the lowest we found in our survey of 8-10 hostels.
The location is very convenient to La Paz's main bus terminal and not far from the backpacker's mecca of Sagarmaga. Annoyances: It took some coaxing to get warm water from the shower. And you have to ring a bell to EXIT the building, whose front door is secured with a padlock; fortunately, I think I could have broken through the door if there had been a fire. |
