Hospedaje Los Jardines Urubamba Reviews
nice place to stay and a delicious breakfast Nov 21, 2008
This hostel is more like a bed a breakfast, with the rooms scattered in a few different buildings overlooking a bright, colorful garden. The buildings were painted in bright colors and there were colorful flowers on bushes in the garden, it just makes you happy to be there.
Our room had two single beds with slightly hard mattresses and a bunch of warm blankets – not sure if there was heat or not. The room was big and had some tables and a chair. We even had our own bathroom with deliciously warm water in the shower! I did find a couple of large beetles wandering through, but we weren’t very good about keeping the door closed. The room overall was a little chilly but comfortable for sleeping. The only bad part was a rooster that woke us up earlier than we would have liked.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We were given animated instructions in Spanish on how to find the local attractions and were allowed to store our luggage prior to checking in. We even asked if we could have breakfast an hour earlier than they normally serve and they very willingly agreed.
The best part was breakfast! We sat around a table in the garden and were served the usual rolls and jam, scrambled eggs, fruit, juice and coffee/tea but we also got a nice surprise of a slice of cheese! Breakfast was not included in our room price but worth the extra S/8.
This was a nice place to stay in you plan to stay over in Urubamba, though most people don’t. It was a few blocks off the main drag, maybe 4 or 5 blocks from the bus stop and about as many to the main plaza.
