Hos Naboen Kristiansand Reviews
A nice, casual restaurant Feb 23, 2010
Hos Naboen (meaning: by the neighbor) is a nice casual restaurant with a warm atmosphere in the main street of Kristiansand.
I have eaten here several times, brought different colleges and everybody has always been happy. Service is efficient and the waiters are friendly and helpful.
From 10:30-16:00 their lunch menu consists of salads, soup, bruschetta, open sandwiches and desserts. Prices range from $15-$25. Dinner starts at 16:00 and has another menu and prices are a bit higher. Here you can select between starters, mains, tapas and desserts. They also have a good variety of coffee drinks (with and without alcohol).
Hos Naboen has a nice wine menu with red wine from Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and USA, and white wine from France, Germany, Italy and New Zealand. Their rosé wine comes from Italy and they have four different Champagnes to choose from.
The restaurant also have specials like the soup of the day for $15 and the dessert of the day (including tea or coffee) for $6. Last time I was there it was a wonderful carrot cake.
During the winter they organize After Ski every Friday at 16:00. All the waiters are dressed in ski outfits, one even with alpine boots, they play typical Tirol music and serve "glühwein". This is obviously a very popular event, cause the place is always packed.
If you are in Kristiansand and looking for a casual, but nice restaurant Hos Naboen is the place!
