Horizon Casino Resort Reviews
Jul 19, 2006I've only been to Lake Tahoe once, but from what I can tell there seems to be one place to stay there, and that's on the mini-"strip" just inches over the Nevada/California border. Among the handful of miniature hotel/casino establishments there is the Horizon Casino Resort. On the northernmost end of the "strip" (approximately one block from the southernmost end), Horizon boats grand views of the lake (or the neighboring casino's roofs, depending on how much you paid for your room). The hotel is equipped with a pool and spa, a buffet, a movie theater, and, of course, a casino. If you're in Tahoe for skiing or sailing or whatever it is you do outdoors, maybe you'd like something a little more log cabin-y. If you're interested in sort of a poor man's Vegas, than this is the strip to be on. The rooms are plenty nice, with a comfortable amount of room for one or two people, but there's not a lot of character. The amenities are sort of lackluster, but then again, it's trying to be Vegas and it's not. It all depends what you're in Tahoe for, but Horizon offers comfortable rooms at a reasonable price if that's what you need. Part of the How I Spent My 2006 Summer Vacation travel blog |
