Jun 18, 2006 Barcelona is full of cheap apartment and hotels, in Spain they call it hostales, pensiones, hoteles and apartamentos. The hostels in spanish are "albergues", so don't confuse it with the "hostals". I think the best way to travel for Spain is just to find a list of hostales or pensiones (I recommend the ones with two stars) and, with a map of the city, just call and book the one near the street you prefer. Here you can find a list for Barcelona. Usually hostales and pensiones are cheap and clean, ask for rooms with bathroom and you should stay very well ;) hotels cheap hostels The Sagrada familia in Barcelona
