Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Fredericksburg Reviews
One of many Religious Sites in Fredericksburg Nov 24, 2010
Unfortunately we were unable to see the inside of this beautiful church. The Holy Ghost Lutheran Church is one of 4 religious sites we managed to see while in Fredericksburg. The building style is almost Gothic. It has a 164 year history dating back to 1844. In the 1930s it was known that men and women were separated during worship, like the Muslims do. They also offered communion only on special occasions unlike in the Catholic church were breaking bread is done literally every mass.
The original congregation was made up of the 125 men, women and children that made it to the site that was to be Fredericksburg in 1846. The congregation joined the American Lutheran Church later in 1949 and changed the name of the church to "Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
