Holland Motor Lodge Jersey City - Reviews - Jersey City

The Holland Motor Lodge in Jersey City, NJ is a decent place to stay if you:
1. Are on a budget, yet want to find accommodations near Manhattan Island;
2. Do not plan on driving into the city and want to park your car somewhere safe (and FREE!)
3. Want to be within walking distance of the NJ PATH Train into Penn Station.

Prices ran approx. $98 per night (2 double beds). Rates are cheaper M-Th and increase slightly Fri-Sun. Parking is safe and FREE (Some parking garages in the city are upwards of $29 per night). The Lodge is within a safe (well-lit) walking distance (8-10 mins)from the PATH Train depot. They also serve juice, coffee, and pastries every morning.
The room that I stayed in smelled a bit stale (like cigarettes), but was aired out quickly by opening the outside window. The room came with air, mini-fridge, free wii-fi connection, TV, etc. There is not an elevator in the building, so be prepared to walk up a flight or two if you are staying on the 2nd floor. All in all, it was a good deal for travelers who plan on spending the majority of their waking hours in the city and only need a place to sleep.
