The Holiday Inn hotel is situated just outside the city centre of Vilnius. You have only a 1km walk to the town square passing the Green Bridge. The hotel is some years old and was probably one of the first international hotel chains in Vilnius.

The staff at the reception was very friendly and service minded. The hotel offers free parking in a secured area behind the hotel, which was really nice and not something you see that often.

The room was small and had a used odour about it. There was aircondition and most of the standard this one expects from a 4 star hotel. The mini bar was very cheap compared to other hotels at this level. The hotel had otherwise had it best years earlier. In general the hotel was not worth the 4 star it had; maybe when it opened but not now.

The breakfast buffet at the Holiday Inn in Vilnius was good, just about anything you could want for breakfast - not like one of those enormous breakfast or brunch buffets, but more than sufficient to get us off to a good start.  After breakfast we checked out of the hotel… Old Town in Vilnius

  Finding a hotel was no problem at all and we ended up staying at a Holiday Inn, the first place we saw.   Surely we could have found something cheaper, more Lithuania or whatever, but at around 60 euros each, this was fine for a night. I had looked in a map before my arrival and I rather quickly found the Holiday Inn hotel that I had booked. The hotel had a free secured parking behind the hotel, which you don’t find many places and the service was good at the reception. …reisleider nog dat er ook iets mis was met de boeking van het hotel en dat we daarom de eerste twee nachten hier in Vilnius in de Holiday Inn zouden overnachten wat toch weer een ster meer is. Nadat de bagage op de kamer was neergezet dronken we gezamenlijk nog even wat en daarna, ruim na middernacht, gingen we naar onze kamers.   Since I only needed to be at the airport… Aankomen in Vilnius // Arrival in Vilnius

Door het feit dat we nu in de Holiday Inn verbleven hadden we vloerverwarming in d e badkamer en dat hielp erg goed om alles weer droog te krijgen.
