Holiday Inn Valencia Reviews
Well located hotel with roof top pool Apr 10, 2011
Shopped around for a good price for this hotel. Some rates were very expensive but for 3 nights in June 2010, I managed to get reasonable room only rates.
Rooms were modern; comfy and clean. Reception was more set up for business types clientele but not a major issue for us as only went there twice (ie to check in and then check out).
Hotel had a rooftop pool and sunbathing area. It wasn't very big but was never busy when we visited and was a good place to relax for a couple of hours topping up the tan!
Having been to Valencia before I knew the area I wanted to stay in. This hotel met those requirements. IE
Right next to the wonderfully relaxing gardens (from where the river was rerouted away from the city centre).
10 minutes from the City of Arts and Sciences; the Mestalla Stadium; the L'Oceanogràfic (aquarium); the Metro; the bars and restaurants around Calle de Ciscar and Carrer del Comte Altea; shopping centre with more restaurants, hypermarket and cinema.
15 mins through the interesting and varied side streets to the City Centre and its sights like the Cathedral; Bull Ring; refurbished Mercados; Torres de Serranos and large department stores.
20 minutes walk downhill to the fabulously sandy beach (or a couple of stops on bus or metro) and location of both the America's Cup port and Grand Prix street track.
If you can get a good price and are happy with teh location as described above, I'd recommend staying here for a few nights.
