Holiday Inn Sarajevo

My room was quite small considering how much I'd paid in what is supposed to be a 5star hotel, but it's one of those hotels you 'have' to stay in when in Sarajevo!

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

It's not close to the old town which is where I spent most evenings but taxis are plentiful and cheap!

Stayed at The Holiday Inn in Sarajevo for a week. We were not sure what to expect initially, reviews were a little harsh.. The hotel was one of the only functioning hotels during the seige of Sarajevo. (initially built for the 1984 Winter Olympics).. If you do some research you will find out it hosted all the journalists in the basement and many delegates. It was shelled heavilly!! located on what was called sniper alley!! if I have any information wrong please let me know.

The hotel is huge and yellow!! 9 floors. You can see it for miles. Not traditionally Bosnian but very nice, clean and comfortable. the hotel staff are friendly and will help in any way to make your stay comfortable. Our room had two double beds and a nice clean bathroom/shower. the view was looking out over the twin tours buisness centre.

location is about 10 minutes by taxi (plenty parked outside) 24hours. into the centre of Sarajevo old Town. Also street cabs, tram lines.. Taxis very cheap about £3 into town 9KM in Bosnian money.

I would happily stay there again...
