Iconic hotel Apr 20, 2009
My room was quite small considering how much I'd paid in what is supposed to be a 5star hotel, but it's one of those hotels you 'have' to stay in when in Sarajevo!
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It's not close to the old town which is where I spent most evenings but taxis are plentiful and cheap! |

Holiday Inn Sarajevo. Bosnia and Herzigovina Apr 01, 2008
Stayed at The Holiday Inn in Sarajevo for a week. We were not sure what to expect initially, reviews were a little harsh.. The hotel was one of the only functioning hotels during the seige of Sarajevo. (initially built for the 1984 Winter Olympics).. If you do some research you will find out it hosted all the journalists in the basement and many delegates. It was shelled heavilly!! located on what was called sniper alley!! if I have any information wrong please let me know.
The hotel is huge and yellow!! 9 floors. You can see it for miles. Not traditionally Bosnian but very nice, clean and comfortable. the hotel staff are friendly and will help in any way to make your stay comfortable. Our room had two double beds and a nice clean bathroom/shower. the view was looking out over the twin tours buisness centre. location is about 10 minutes by taxi (plenty parked outside) 24hours. into the centre of Sarajevo old Town. Also street cabs, tram lines.. Taxis very cheap about £3 into town 9KM in Bosnian money. I would happily stay there again... |

Holiday Inn .
I rarely mention hotels, but the Sarajevo Holiday Inn is worthy because of the part it played during the Bosnian Conflict. Foreign journalists stayed in the hotel during the worst of the siege. Situated on Sniper Alley , the hotel was hit a fair… Sarajevo, Bosnia - I Love This City! |

Got a taxi and headed towards the holiday Inn. (see review). I just loved the place, the people, the culture. Met two of my friends from Sarajevo the first morning and we headed into town. Alot of the damage during the war has been renovated, although some still evident. I only… beautiful sarajevo |

Tomorrow, as I said above, going to Tunnel museum (where they smuggled in supplies to break the siege) and Sniper Alley and the Holiday Inn Hotel, where it used to be very dangerous to go out.
Now time to see if there's anywhere to go out drinking anywhere. Over and out.

We passed the Holiday Inn Hotel on "Sniper Alley", but it seems to have been done up so you can't see the bullet marks. Went to the wrong end of the tunnel first, but it didn't take too long to get to the right end. Who should… Sarajevo |
