Quite Relaxing Stop Over Dec 09, 2010
Having been delayed, and missed our connection, this was where BA put us up for the night, so I'm guessing at the average price.
Half hourly shuttle bus service between here and T5, and different buses go to the other terminals. Was a 15-20 minute transfer from T5, and there were a lot of other chain hotels around the area.
Staff were friendly and polite, and we were all checked in at a side desk, with no fuss and everything explained, since we were having to use vouchers for meals.
Room was a good size, and the bed was really comfortable :)Each room had a mini bar, safe and cable TV. Bathroom and shower were good, especially in the morning :D
Lobby area was bright, and looked nice all decorated for Christmas.
There were two restaurants to choose from. A self service Rotisserie, which did carved meats and chicken, and there was the 'Sampans' restaurant that offered a range of different Oriental cuisine. I went for the Rotisserie and enjoyed it, particularly the parsnip soup :)Staff were great and over all the time making sure you had everything you wanted, and at £4 for a pint of Stella they weren't totally ripping you off.
There were two bars down on the ground floor, the first a standard lobby type bar, and the othe 'Callaghans' kitted out in box kit Irish Pub style. Started off in 'Callaghans' but just after 11pm they called last orders in there and started bottling up.
Went to the other bar and strangely here, you could get a beer on your room card, but couldn't pay for it in cash after 11pm. As the room was booked by BA, there were no card details against the room so I had to pay for the drinks on my credit card.
Tried a few times to go to reception, but no matter when i went there was always a big queue, with people arriving all the time. I was wanting to see if they had a spare iPhone charger, since mine was in my case stuck in the airport.
Eventually got someone at the side desk, and they didn't have one, a lot of hotels do, even if you need to leave a deposit for it.
Bed was big and comfortable, and even though I slept for just over 3 hours, I still felt great when I woke up in the morning :)
In the morning the bus back to the airport turned up on schedule,5-25am, so all in all it was a pretty painless stop over, even if it was unintended.
Worth considering if you ever have to do an overnighter at Heathrow.

Fine airport location hotel. Comfortable beds and rooms that are not small. If it were in the US, it would still be considered a comfortable size room. I stayed there when Heathrow was completely shutdown and this hotel was very busy. Even at a time when the line to check-in was 15 people/families deep and a private party at one of the restaurants, the staff remained calm and very helpful. Our included dinner buffet was nothing to write home about but was acceptable given that it was our only option. One unique thing about this hotel (I can't speak for other airport area hotels in London), was that they had arrival and departure information screens in the lobby as well as a channel on the TVs that has the information. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough for me to get a good nights sleep. Overall, I wouldn't stay here if I was going to London for holiday, but given that the hotel was booked for me by BA, it certainly could have been worse.

Cheaper option Sep 20, 2009
I stayed in this holiday inn during September 2009. It was the accommodation included within a weekend theatre break to London. Check in was quick and the staff were incredibly friendly. My initial reaction upon reaching our room was 'It's right next to Heathrow' so close infact that you could see the planes taking off and landing from the room window. However, no noise could be heard at all from the aircraft.
The rooms were very spacious, typical wardrobe space, dressing table, hairdryer, television, table and two chairs. The bathroom was immaculate, lots of toiletries provided and clean towels. Can't comment on the laundry service as it was only an overnight stay. The beds were very comfy and the room warm.
Breakfast the following morning was a bit of a rat race due to the fact that only one of the restaurants was open when we went down at about 8am. Unfortunately, there was quite a queue too, however, the food was topped up immediately as it ran out. Typical full english breakfast was on offer together with a selection of cereals and fresh fruit. However, to get a piece of toast was a mission in itself due to there being only one four slice toaster in the breakfast room, having had to queue for approx 15 mins to put 2 slices of bread into a toaster was a joke. However, due to breakfast being self service you could go back for more if you so wished.
Would definitly recommend staying here again whilst on a short break to London, it is only about 20 mins from the city centre and is a cheaper option than staying in a city centre hotel.
