Holiday Inn Express Glenwood Springs

I always try and choose Holiday Inn Express whenever I can find one wherever I stay. I like to stay at HI E because I can always depend on them and know that there will be no surprises with the bed, linens, breakfast, and amenities. I absolutely love their towels and the bath amenities the place in the room. I also like it if you forget something, or you just didn’t want to bring that can of shaving cream.

The beds are always so comfy. I tend to believe that they rotate or bring in new mattresses quite often. The sheets are always clean and crisp and make for a comfortable night’s sleep.

This particular HI Express is well located in the main tourist area only a half block off the main street so that there is no disturbing traffic noise. The tramway to the mountaintop amusement park is a half block away - just behind the hotel. The small pool in front has umbrellas and lounges. There is plenty of free parking and very helpful front desk people.

The only negative I could come up with is that there were several smoking rooms on the third floor. I was far away from them, so I wasn’t bothered but I would not have liked to be next to one of them since the smoke was noticeable when you walked through the hotel.

I always have a great time here and the tramway was just one of the highlights. There is so much to do in and around town and the hotel has a bike shuttle service that you can take through Glenwood Canyon. We opted for the hike to Hanging Lakes. It was good to come back to the room and take a nice cold shower in the room.
