Holiday Inn Express Douglasville

This Holiday Inn Express is located in Douglasville, Georgia. It's located 30 minutes west of downtown Atlanta and is near the I-20 interstate. Across from the hotel is a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Further down is a Texaco gas station and on the opposite direction you will find a Wal-Mart and a few stores which are all within a 5-minute drive.

Across from the I-20 interstate they have more gas stations, a japanese restaurant (called Wasabi), a Walgreens, Dunkin' Donuts, and a few other shops. If you venture 10 minutes further, you will run into a very nice-looking mall called Arbor Hills mall.

The lobby/lounge and the reception area is very clean and nicely decorated. The customer service at the reception desk is "consistently" great! The hallways and the rooms are nicely decorated and are very clean.

My room was very clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable and clean. They have a large flat-panel TV in the room in addition to a microwave and a decent size fridge to store your bottled water or other goodies that require refrigeration. They offer wireless internet in the room. The reception will provide you with a internet access code when you check in should you require internet access in your room.

Complimentary breakfast is usually part of the price you pay when reserving online through their website. They offer bacon, sausages, eggs, french toast, cereal, milk, fruits, muffins, coffee, a variety of juice (grapefruit, apple, cranberry, etc.), boiled eggs, yogurt, and a few other things). A staff member is there to great you and assist you in any way with any of the breakfast items.

The lounge area has a public use computer with a printer for hotel guests to utilize as well.

The hotel also has a pool but when I went there they had a tarp cover over it because of the rainy weather. The hotel also has a fitness room equipped with one treadmill, one eliptical machine, and one stationary bike. There is also a water cooler there and a large TV to pass time as you work off those calories. I was so happy they had a fitness center there. I got a good workout! ;-)

They also have an ATM cash machine near the reception desk should you need cash. I found this to be very convenient. There is a $2.00 surcharge for withdrawing cash however.

I definitely recommend this hotel and won't hesitate to go back if I'm in the Atlanta area again.
