Holiday Inn Express Boulder Reviews
Just another Hotel Jul 30, 2010
Well, this was probably one of the most run down HIE I had ever stayed in. I will admit I did stay here long before I truly was hooked on the brand. This property is a bit out of town, which means you must drive into Boulder to do anything. I was here on a visit to the campus before I decided that I wanted to go to school at CU. The place is basically in a residential / light industrial area. Motel is out of the way on the north side of Boulder. Nothing within walking distance.
To the best of my knowledge they had many maintenance issues. But I guess that goes with an older property. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The beds had all those pillows which were very nice. The amenities were good. The one thing that really made this a tolerable place to stay was the staff. Everyone was really nice and offered apologies for the condition of the place. They assured me that things were being worked on. They did have an outdoor pool and an exercise room. The equipment was not all that modern. It worked, but nothing to write home about.
Like all the Holiday Inn Express hotels, they serve a free breakfast each morning. They had a variety of things to choose from, some hot, some cold, all pretty good. The coffee was ok, I think it had been made a few hours earlier and just cooled down. They also had coffee makers in the room and that was a lifesaver.
I have stayed in other motels in Boulder in this price range, and they were good and not as good. I think this is a ok property, but I think I may want to pay a little more and stay at one of the fancier hotels such as the Boulderado in downtown. I might would recommend this motel to friends, but with some reservations.
