Holbrook Overview

Holbrook was founded in 1881 and is the gateway to Petrified Forest National Park. Located near many of the Indian reservations Holbrook is located in eastern Arizona and near the 3 routes that connect, I-40, Highway 190 and Highway 77.

Holbrook is a good quiet place with most services where it is a good place to get supplies. Dont buy the legal petrified wood there only because not far off are better places to buy legal petrfied wood. Not far away (east) is dinosaurland where they have life size simulated dinos and whole trees of petrified wood in their neat drive around. At their shop legal petrified wood sells at $2 a pound.
Dont dare take petrified wood from the Nat. Park. If you buy legal wood, keep your receit till you get home.
