Outside the terminal there was a man waiting,
with a sign reading ‘Alex Henderson, as Alex had booked the Hotel. He
was friendly and spoke to me a lot in his broken English, pointing out
sights along the way.
The drive was about 40 minutes, and soon enough, we were at the
Green Fields Hotel, a large establishment, with a pool, free wifi, and

We get to our next hotel which was called The Asia Hotel.. We go in and there is a section in the middle of the hotel where the rain drips down into a middle section. The hotel has stains and stuff all over the floor... It is a strange hotel… Saigon- i think this was more like may 17 but oh well |

…our budget was and we reckoned because it was New Years maybe about US$20 to US$25 for a room, so he said he would take us to a hotel in that price range. We pulled up at the first hotel and he was told that it was fully booked so he said he would take us to a different hotel .. well 3 hotels later (all fully booked) we were still driving around in the taxi… Day 36 - Travelling from Hanoi to Hoi An |

Arriving in Hoi An we were handed a list of hotels and ours was listed as the "Best Hotel in Hoi An" which kind of made us feel good.
As we checked in, the receptionist said that in addition to the $25 room we had splashed out on for xmas, a $30 room was available… Hoi An 24th December to 27th December 2007 |
