Half day in Ho Chi Minh mausoleum Mar 03, 2012
It located in the centre of Ba Dinh Square, which is the place where Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. That was an amazing experience when i got a chance to go there. The first impression was "wow, this place is really huge!". The second one was no one had to say anything about keep silence but everyone knew it.The embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh is preserved in the cooled, central hall of the mausoleum, which is protected by military honour guards.I've heard so thousand times about our Father-the greatest General and former President of Vietnam but I couldn't feel much. After going inside the mausoleum and saw him real at the first time of my life,in my opinion, I could say "Yeah, he's the man, who will live forever in every Vietnamese people's hearts!".

Essential visit Mar 07, 2010
This site is where the body of Vietnam's leader Ho Chi Minh can be seen. Apart from acting as his resting place, this was also the site where the declaration of independence was read out in 1945 which established the demoratic status of Vietnam.

The building has a very serious and cold look to it, and the area is wonderfully maintained and impeccable. There are many soldiers nearby, which stand and guard the place.

Although Ho Chi Minh wanted to be cremated, it was decided that he should be enbalmed and showcased because he was such a key figure in modern Vietnam. The body was enbalmed by the same people that enbalmed Lenin.

Inside, no pictures are allowed. Visitors can walk past but cannot stand there. And so, the visit is like a very slow conveyor belt, which allows you to see the body.

The site is closed for a few months each year as the body is sent back to Russia to be maintained properly.

A little creepy, but essential viewing indeed.
