The only thing that I wish would have been different about my recent
trip to Vietnam is that it was longer. Just over two days was not
nearly enough timem to explore all of the wonders of the countrys'
capital, Ho Chi Minh City (commonly known as Saigon), or the small,
beautiful beach town of M…

We checked out of our hotels at 7:00 and headed for the airport for the 8:20 Vietnam Airlines flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Daniel arrived a bit late because he went to the airport on a motorbike with his 12 kg luggage in his hand. We had to wait for the 12:50 Tiger Airways flight to Singapore.

Vietnam and Cambodia are really affordable to everyone.
I have found the people to be very friendly in both countries.
I visisted Saigon and did all the side trips (Megkong Delta, Chi Chu tunnels, Cat Tien national Park), Hanoi including the Halong Bay trip and Sapa.
In Cambodia I unfortunately only did Siem Reap with 4 temples of which Angkor Wat is the most famous.
I loved it and would do it again.

In Vietnam, the best celebration of the year is the new year. And becasue their new year is based on the moon calendar as the Chinese and Moslem, then it fell exactly on the same day as Chinese new year or Moslem new year. In Vietnam it's called as Tet. During this holiday we got 5 days of pub…

The Cu Chi tunnels are near Saigon and had been recommended as being well worth a visit. They are probably the MOST popular day trip from the city as every travel agent offers a half or full day trip there for less than $10. The full day also includes a visit to the Cao Dai temple, whic…

There are many things that I have notice are very popular in Vietnam. The first are street pajamas worn by women. They could be cotton, silk or satin. They could come with or without cartoon characters. You don't have to stop wearing your PJs when you get out of bed, or even when you leav…

We had to leave Dalat to head back to Siagon where we'd get back on a plane to get back to LA. The hot rock massage was so great that we indulged in another session just before leaving. Again, a wonderful experience. We reached Saigon in the late afternoon and headed back to the Cho Ben Thanh Mark…
