Well, we had to say goodbye to beautiful Prague today.  Probably my most recommended travel destination in Europe so far (not that I've been many but hey, I'm still allowed a favorite). We went for one last breakfast/lunch at our favorite Tex Mex place and then decided to hit the pavement again.First we visited the Alfons Mucha Museum.  I didn't know who he was but Weslie had been saying she wanted to go the entire time we've been in Prague so why not?  Plus it was only 60kc so ...

I've been to Prague a few times and this particular trip was a quick one, however, we did find time to briefly visit Karlstejn Castle beautiful 14th century castle located about 20 or 30 minutes outside of the Prague city centre. There is a winding road which leads up to the castle and whilst there are people at the bottom offering to take you up for a fee, it's well worth taking the 25 minute stroll on feet so that you can look at the bars, restaurants and shops on the way.  We stopp...

After 4 nights in Prague, it is finally time to say goodbye to the magical, green fairy city that seems to be housing all the British stag and Hen parties.  After meeting only 1 person from the UK before coming to Prague, it is now apparent where they have all been.  Here! The Aparcay Hostel which we have been staying in has been fantastic.  Our room has its own kitchen and common area which has been great to meeting people.  For the first time on our trip...

Get there now, before it turns into Disneyland!

I'm sitting atop a vista point at the Vysehrad Castle in Prague to escape the crowd in the main town center (it felt like Disneyland!).  It's about 70 degrees today, partly cloudy, and a westerly wind adding a steady breeze to the amazing view that's having the most calming effect I've enjoyed so far on this trip.  Most importantly, I'm enjoying the scenery at the top alone...tranquility found.  This is the Prague I was dreaming of and finally found.Three weeks and five countri...

I love Prague!! Not only is this place cheap to stay, eat and play, but the city itself is so beautiful. It's like lifting a page out of a medieval book in the old city (Stare Mesto). I loved loved loved the beautiful parks in Prague too, spending a significant amount of time chilling out in the leafy and unbelievably green Petrinske Sady which randomly contains a miniature "Eiffel Tower" called the Petrin Tower - looked very much like a lightning rod to me, especially from a distance! Pragu...

3 days in Prague
posted by:

I arrived in Prague on the overnight train from Krakow.  Most of the 9 hour trainride was spent trying to sleep in my cramped bottom bunk on one of the sleeper cars.  After getting settled in my hotel and meeting up with Chloe (who was already in Prague), I set off to explore the city.  I find the best way to get to know a city is to simply get lost in it... and after one day of wandering through the narrow sidestreets and back alleys of Pragues Old Town, I felt like I had a pr...

I went to Prague for a couple of days to meet up with friends last autumn. I had heard from many people that it was such a beautiful city so my expectations were high. Luckily for me, my expectations were not only met but exceeded. The centre of town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and when you see it you feel as though you are stepping back in time. The city is often called the city of a 100 spires • and it leaves up to the name. It seems as though everywhere you look there ...

Went out to an Absinthe bar... they light it on fire and make a huge show of it... one drink is enough... it burns the whole way down, better than most spirts though. I had the ab. 35. really good. We met up with a group of 6 swedish guys - they can drink more than anyone else i've ever met. The party starts at noon and ends at about 8 in the morning. Crazy kids!

After a very early start, we left the grey skies of London and flew in to a lovely white, snowy Prague. After getting picked up from the airport by an interesting Canadian dude, we were taken to our hotel. We then hopped on the tram and explored the town. Prague is a wonderful little city full of windy old narrow streets, all cobblestones which feels so nice under my feet!!! Over the next couple of days we did a tour of town (Astronomical Clock, St Vitus Cathedral, Prague Castle, Ch...

For many of you out there, the idea of flying to another continent for a long weekend might sound a little nuts. But when you're in the "business" (airline business) you get a lot of opportunities. My buddy Rey and I decided to take advantage of our perks and headed to Prague from Austin, Texas via Dallas and Frankfurt. We got there late due to bad weather in Germany, but made the most of it. Getting our apartments was a breeze and we settled in for a good nights rest after travelin...

Prague is a beautiful city, especially in the winter. I went to Prague in February of 2005 and fell in love with the city. The eclectic architecture gives the city an historical but contemporary feel. Old Town Square is an open area where the Astronomical Clock (very anticlimactic-I was expecting something more, but a must see) is located. My friends and I ate at a restaurant on the square and even in February, at outside under heaters. Under the light snow, we enjoyed some good food and beer...
