Some of the best times I've ever had! I am lucky to be part of a lacrosse team that went to Prague every April to play in a tournament. Each year I thought I had enough, but I always kept on going back (6 times!). Little did I know that this would leave a footprint on my soul....

So, after spending the night sleeping on the floor in Stansted airport, reaching Prague was a bit of a relief!  The places we were to visit on this trip were completely new to both of us, so trying to understand Czech and getting our head round the Koruna were a little intimidating as we tried to wrangle a bus to town from the airport.  Luckily, we encountered our first 'Travel buddy' - a man we named Simon (we never did find out his name) who gave us some bus tickets and tip...

Central Europe has a lot to offer, you just have to choose. May 2005 I was traveling around this region and visited some really beautifull places.

This was a great place to visit for three days.  If you get past the grafitti on most of the buildings and structures there (courtesy of some of the very artistic czech youth) and focus on just the old structures of what makes Prague as well as some of the shows, places to eat and shop, you will enjoy it there. Having had a good night sleep the night before (knowing that we intended to be out and about at night for the next couple of nights), we got up early and headed over to Prague Castle. We made our way to, and then crossed Charles Bridge. Charles Bridge is a stone Gothic bridge that connects the Old Town and Malá Strana - the destination we wished to reach enroute to Prague Castle.
