Hindustan Hamilton Reviews
Cuisine: Indian with a touch of New Zealand Oct 23, 2010
Hindustan is an authentic Indian restaurant in the heart of Hamilton. Located in Garden Place one of the most popular malls in town it is close to the costumer.
First, glancing at the sign at the entrance, I was under the impression that this restaurant is rather a less spectacular one but do not jump at conclusions because it turned out to be a place filled with Indian charm instead.
People who love both Indian dishes and a touch of New Zealand cuisine will definitely like this place. The menu offers a large range of tasteful entrees, mains and desserts. Whereas Naan bread in many different mouth-watering flavours served with spicy or fruity chunteys and Masala seasoned with ginger, chilli or garlic are absolutely Indian, chocolate mudcake for dessert seems to be exactly right with a sweet Kiwi tooth.
Apart from the aspect of having a delicious dinner I liked the warm, polite and cordial atmosphere at the Hindustan. India isn't far when dining there.
The staff was very competent and attentive. If you think your dish is not hot enough they will bring you another spiced up one without further ado because at any time this authentic Indian food experience shall be provided to those who appreciate hot and exotically flavoured dishes.
The mainly golden, reddish brown and black interior including traditional ornaments and neatly draped accessories such as mirrors, music instruments and lights capture Indian culture and underline modernity in unison.
To sum up, the Hindustan is recommendable with a clear conscience. That's the place to go whenever you would like to enjoy a slice of Indian food, culture and mentality in the middle of Hamilton.
