The best hotel for ending a tour May 27, 2005
This was the last nights stay for both of our tours and I would say it was the best four star hotel of our trip to Europe. This is a huge hotel, boasting 662 rooms, a huge restaurant, and several shops. There was also a permanent staff from the Tour companies, Brendan, Globus & Trafalgar with offices there. The food in the buffet style restaurant was very good and there was a large selection. We felt well taken care of at this hotel. The staff was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable and handled everything rapidly and without problems. Considering the number of tours that came through it was very obvious they knew how to handle the crowds. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our ending hotel for both tours May 27, 2005
This huge beautiful hotel was the ending hotel for both of our tours and permanent staffs from several Tour companies also had offices here. We never had enough time to look around completely but there were boutiques and shops and the restaurant were we ate was a very nice buffet with plenty of choices.
Our room was well up high and the elevators were swift but comfortable to use. The room itself was very nicely furnished, clean and well maintained. I am sure this hotel is rated at 4 stars and I would recommend it highly. Part of the Spring 2005 - 35 Day trip to Europe travel blog |

Hilton Metropole Oct 16, 2009
great little (or shall i say not so little) hotel. Very conveniently located within a 1 min walk from edgeware station 1 station away from paddington connecting every single form and line of locomotive transport. Being the biggest hotel in Europe, you'll find plenty of rooms, however it is so busy, often times it's sold out, especially on the weekends. A new building so not much victorian design to see here, but the lobby is massive and open, and the rooms are quite spacious for UK standards. As mentioned before, yes the halls can be quite odorous. Smell of smoke and cooked food makes it quite unpleasant at times. But the smell doenst get into the rooms and I hope you wouldnt be spending much time in your hotel hallway in such a vibrant city anyway... Location is convenient, but it's not smack dab in the busiest part of london. Plan on hoping on a tube to head to places as you wont find Buckingham palace or Picadilly at your doorstep. And of course, enjoy your ride on the supersonic speed elevators taking you from G to 15th floor in 20 seconds! No worries for those motionly challenged either, as you wont feel your stomach coming to your throat in this one.

From the train station we were bused to our last hotel of the tour, the Hilton London Metropole. This is the biggest, prettiest, and nicest hotel of all and all Globus tours that end in London end here. They have a permanent staff officed here and they are all super people.
