Hilton Garden Inn Airport Saint Louis Reviews
Nice place, terrible service Jul 20, 2009
The hotel was obviously new and very nice. We received a great rate and thought the location worked out for us perfectly. Upon arriving we asked for an early check in which I was told was possible because I am an HHonors member. Well we drove all the way there and I could not get the check in 2 hours early so we had to pack everything in the car with us to get onto the Metro and head downtown. After arriving later we got in and there were no sheets or blankets for our sofabed which was needed because we were traveling as a family of 4. We asked for the sheets and a few minutes later they were brought to us. After unfolding them I realized that the whole inside of both sheets were soaking wet! I called for more and this time when bringing dry sheets they sent a security guard with the housekeeper. How intimidating! Later I had to go down to the desk to see if they had any type of ointment in their pantry as my daughter was in need. I was at the desk for 20 minutes. There was one woman, who was very friendly, taking care of myself and 4 other people at once while others walked by without helping. Finally she went into the office and brought someone else out who seemed less than enthused to help me. Finally they said that they did not have anything but sent me to a Schnucks down the road for the ointment. I asked if it was open 24 hours as this was 11pm. They said yes. When I sent my husband to get the ointment he reported that they were only open til midnight so he just made it and it was in a very bad portion of town. The next morning we had 2 similar instances of being just left at the desk with no help. One time I went down during breakfast to find out about an area church and the lady at the desk told me to hold on while she walked off and began cleaning off tables in the restaurant. She did this for 10 minutes while I stood and waited. She didn't even ask what I needed before walking off as I would have only taken 20 seconds of her time. The housekeepers were all rude in the hallways and when I took the kids to swim the pool, which only goes up to 4 feet, was terribly disgusting. I did not want them walking barefoot there. The police showed up twice for some unknown reason as well. We also had 2 bottles of water in the refrigerator in our room and we happened to have the same kind of water with us. Upon inspection we saw that each bottle had not only been opened but had drinks taken out of them. They were definitely not sealed. IT's too bad this this nice, new hotel has to be ran by people that do not care.
