Hilton Cairns Reviews
Good value for all that you get Feb 14, 2010
The greenery hanging from the balconies and walkways along with the rainforest feel of the inner "void" as they call it is fitting for this tropical paradise. The Hilton is located at the beginning of Trinity Inlet, but is within walking distance of the Boarwalk, the piers where the Great Barrier Reef tour boats launch from, the Esplanade, the lagoon pool, and the Cairns Wildlife Dome located at the Reef Casino.
The rooms have balconies that are great places to watch the nightly migration of the fruit bats. The beds are a little small and the air conditioning is barely strong enough to fight the heat and humidity of summer time in Cairns.
The hotel has a nice sized pool that has plenty of shady spots if you want to get out of the intense sun. Internet access is free. The included breakfast as Hanamu offers a lot variety including a Japanese section. The outdoor restaurant, Mondo, is excellent and tends to favor Malaysian cuisine. There is even a wedding chapel on the premises.
