Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

This hotel is so convenient for arriving from a flight or before a morning departure or even for a home base while exploring Amsterdam. It is an easy walk from the terminal. You can even catch a shuttle if you have too much luggage to carry or cart around. The hotel is geared toward airport travelers and has up to date flight information displayed in the lobby. Because there is a train station at the airport, you can easily ride to Centraal Station and do not need a car or taxi.

I've stayed here at various times since 2004.

The Hilton Amsterdam Airport is one of the three very nice hotels at the Amsterdam Schipol Airport that give you excellent convenience for the night before your flight.

The most important thing to mention here is that the Hilton is NOT directly connected to the airport complex. You do have to walk a little distance, with a small portion of this outdoors, or take a shuttle from the hotel to the terminal. The walk is not too far, and they have plenty of luggage carts available, but if ultimate convenience is your thing, stay at the Sheraton. Parking is also available.

Like the Sheraton, the Hilton can be very expensive on weeknights. On weekend nights, however, the rates are much more affordable. If price is your number one priority, try the Citizen M.

The Hilton, however, is the Hilton. It has full amenities, including restaurant, bar, and the bed, amenities, and everything else that makes a Hilton a Hilton (including the HHonors benefits). The bar staff are very friendly, and will recognize you after a couple visits. Food can be bought and eaten at the bar. If you're staying the night at the airport and not planning on taking the train into the city, but still want to hang out before bed, this would be the place to stay!
