Hilo Hawaiian Hotel

I can recommend this hotel to anyone who should like to have a pleasant time in Hilo and the surroundings. The area around the hotel is beautiful! Nice bays, the hotel's front has a nice ocean view as well as a good view on Coconut Island. The backside rooms face some huge Banyan Trees in which nocturnal animals provide you with a very relaxing nightly concert. The hotel is equipped with all the stuff tourists needs (restaurant, bar, buffet, travel desk, etc.)
You will need a car to visit downtown Hilo, but nearby restaurants are quite OK.
Rooms are clean and not too small. And, (at last!) finally a hotel that understands that providing a free parking lot is a service that guests appreciate.

Let's face it: Hilo has no upscale hotels. My wife and I both agree that something as simple as a Hampton Inn would dominate all business in Hilo. However, since no such Hampton exists, then the Hilo Hawaiian is your best choice.
