Hillsdale B&B

If you are looking for a comfortable and ideal setting to visit the Lake District then this B&B is ideal! The location is perfect for walking the peaks and exploring, all on your doorstep!

The town and the B&B are very quaint and quintessentially English. Having driven through some other towns in the Lake District I think this was by far the most pure and relatively untouched taking into account it was a bank holiday weekend!

The main selling point to this B&B has to be the lady and gentleman running it. The wonderfully friendly, helpful and relaxing ambiance was marvelous. Nothing was too much trouble and they always seemed to take time to have a friendly chat. George had a very good knowledge of the area and was very willing to help give advice on walks and activities.

The rooms were clean and comfortable (and trust me after some of those walks you will appreciate it!) and as far as little cozy B&Bs go this is a good one. The breakfast was pretty spectacular also which sets you up for the day ahead!

I also believe you could make use of passes to leisure facilities in a nearby hotel with Sauna etc although we didn't make use of this.
