You'll need:
Good hiking Shoes Comfy clothes Camera Water Energy snack sunscreen (optional) Be in good hiking health Trail is well kept but steep in some areas. Trail is dirt, so beware on rainy days. Permits MUST be obtained before hiking down to Kalaupapa. The official tour is highly recommended and worth every penny. Lunch is provided as part of the tour. If you really want an adventure, try riding the mules! |

You can only get there by plane, hiking, or mule. You'll still need permits for all 3 I believe. No one is allowed to go in whenever they want. We decided to hike down and back up. The hike down was easy of course and the trail is well kept… Kalaupapa, Molokai - Dream Come True |
