Hikari no Renaisance
Hikari no Renaisance Reviews
hikari no renaisance lights up Osaka Dec 22, 2008
Over the last 3 or 4 years, leading up to Christmas the district of Nakonoshima near Umeda has lit the night skys of Osaka, illuminating the the river banks with beautiful bright lights flickering to the beats of music.
When you first see the lights it is very beautiful but soon you loose interest in the place as you are amongst a crowd of people. They also have cute characters such as a snowman, santa and winnie the pooh lit up. The lights looked much better compared to these pictures so maybe someone can give me a few tips on photography at night as my pictures seem real dull. This year they added a new element to the event with a sand sculpture from Tottori used with the sand of the dunes from this area. The sand sculptures of the angels added something special to the event To get to the event take the Midosuji line to Yodoyabashi station, one station from Umeda and exit through exit number one you can see the lighted area from the exit. This event runs from December 13th- December 25th. Part of the Things to do and see in Osaka - Kansai travel blog |
