Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens Travel Reviews

Higashiyama zoo Mar 30, 2008
This place you can enjoy 3 things; zoo, botanical garden, and a small amusement park.
Zoo is just a regular size of zoo. I don't think there are unfamiliar
animals.
As for amusement park, you pay at the each gate (from 100yen to 300yen) or buy 11(1000yen) or 24 (2000yen) tickets. It's a little bit confusing so if you want to ride a few things then pay when you ride.

It's not too big or too small(amusement park is small). It's just the right size. You won't be tired. Both kids and adults can have fun.
In the spring, you can see cherry blossoms there. They have 3,000 cherry blossoms trees. They even have a picnic space so you can bring your own food from home (lunch box) or anywhere and have a picnic under the trees.
It might be too hot in the summer and too cold in winter so I recommend either spring or fall.

If you have subway/bus pas for the weekends, you can get a discount. They also have restaurants on the ground. It's nice in the spring or late summe...
Dipsy600 says: The little town of Arimatsu is this cute old town with a huge past. Back in the day Arimatsu was a small village on the old Highway. Its people made a living producing tie-dyed cotton cloth (shibori), which they sold to passing travelers. Today, Arimatsu is a suburb of Nagoya on its southeastern edg...
