Hidden Valley Resort Huntsville Reviews
Beautiful Views! Oct 15, 2010
This hotel is in a valley, which is apparently hidden, in Muskoka. We drove up after I was done work so it was dark when we got there. The hotel is on is a one lane road which drives down a hill. The location its self is awesome but it truly is hidden and not that fun of a drive in the dark. It is pitch black.
When we arrived there were two tour buses in the parking lot but no body around the hotel. We checked in, however she put us in a room which hadn't been cleaned yet. Not a big deal because she changed it.
Got into the room and it was a little bit dated but it was only $90 so whatever. We saw that we had a balcony. But since it was dark outside we couldn't see much. So we went to bed for our big day in Algonquin Park. The bed was hard and I found it a little difficult to sleep but the next day after a day of hiking I passed out hard so it didn't really matter.
When we woke up we saw our view. You could see for miles across a lake over hills covered with red and orange trees. It was awesome. We didn't really spend a lot of time in the hotel because we went to go hiking. We did find that because it was off season there wasn't much to do in Huntsville once it was dark out. So the second night we spent in the room and walked down the road a little.
All in all, this hotel needs an overhaul and it used to be a Holiday Inn so there are some still signs of that. For $90 a night it was exactly what I expected and in the summer I could see it being really busy and more entertaining. It is in a magnificent place and only 45 mins from Algonquin Park.
This hotel held its purpose but it could have been better.
