Hi Tamaimo Tropical Aparthotel Tenerife Reviews
Cheap but not for the young! May 04, 2011
I stayed here a couple of years ago and as a student you always look for bargains. I can't remember how much we paid for a 10 night all inclusive holiday here but it wasn't much and we thought it was a steal. HOWEVER, lovely as the hotel itself is...it's in the middle of nowhere and it's full of old people and Germans (nothing against the Germans but they don't half get up early to steal those sun beds!). It was a Thomas Cook package so we had a transfer from the airport and we were the last people on the bus to be dropped off, we were in walking distance of some shops and restaurants but we did get lost the first time we tried to find them and there is a MASSIVE hill to climb to get there!
There is a terrifying bus ride available to get to the nearest city which took about an hour and it wasn't too bad if you don't mind hurtling round blind corners with huge cliffs on either side of you! You could get to Siam Park (a fantastic water park) quite easily as well which is definitely a recommended day out.
The hotel itself was basic but lovely, the bedroom was huge and had an en-suite bathroom and there are 2 pools...though one was supposed to be heated, they were both friggin freezing to me! Entertainment was very tacky but still quite fun as well...they had a bird show one night and i got to hold an American bald eagle...memorable to say the least though i did feel sorry for the birds used in this way.
Not somewhere to go if you're looking for an authentic holiday or if you can't stomach old men in speedos but it is good value for money if you don't mind being further away from the lively scene! You also get very good views of a volcano from your balcony on a clear day =)
(Pictures were taken but they are all on my exes camera so unfortunately I can't post them here, sorry guys!)
