Hershey's Chicago Reviews
All for the Chocolate Dec 13, 2009
Chocolate. Our sole purpose of driving to Chicago (five hours one way) was chocolate. We visited Hershey's Chicago on a dreary Sunday but the chocolate made it all better.
We arrived about a half-hour before the store opened, so we were among the first customers of the day. When the doors opened, we were overwhelmed (in a good way) by the sweet aroma of chocolate -- we were entering into 3600 square feet of chocolate... heaven. We shopped for chocolate souvenirs, everything from t-shirts and coffee mugs to every Hershey product known to man, including mega-sized Hershey's Kisses and chocolate bars. I even found a cookbook full of chocolate recipes -- I couldn't pass that up!
Even though it was morning, and we hadn't had lunch, we decided to indulge and have some dessert from the Hershey bakery. It was difficult to decide -- there were so many brownies, cupcakes and cookies to choose from topped with Reese's peanut butter cups, York peppermint patties, Hershey's Kisses and Hershey bars. We got a Reese's cupcake and a Kiss brownie to split. OH MY GOODNESS! Too good to even talk about! It was a sugar-overload, but well worth it!
Hershey's Chicago is located right downtown on Michigan Avenue, just near the water tower that survived the great fire.
