Herrick Guest Suites

I recently spent several days in the West Village at Herrick Guest Suite's Cornelia St. property. It was an awesome experience. The location was spectacular, the apt. was terrific - very clean and beautifully furnished - and their guest service staff was totally attentive. I highly recommend staying with them.

Herrick Suites, certainly in the location I live in, has apartments in a "residential" building. In accordance with zoning laws, and the regulations of the building, it is my understanding that any occupancy needs to be at least a month. (Or 30 days, or split hairs however you like.) It is also my understanding that even if you email them, that they may say that it is ok to book for, lets say, 30 days, then cancel and stay for a shorter period. I am no lawyer, and only offer observations, however, it doesn't smell right. )

So. As far as I am concerned, I would not do business with an entity that was operating, shall we be charitable and say marginally within the bounds of the law. Especially at the rates that are being charged. If you are from out of town, I would suggest that you call the NY govt ohone number and ask them if what you are planning to do is within local laws and regulations. NY is a great place to visit. There are many places to stay...find a reputable one and enjoy!

Stayed at Herrick Guest Suites in a one-bedroom apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood. This company offers apartments for rent in many different areas, but I am glad I picked Chelsea because EVERYTHING was in walking distance! Plus we could see the Empire State building right out the window and watch traffic below from 16 stories high. Awesome.

This place was comfortable, like as if I was rich and lived in Manhattan.

It was so fun for a group of us three girls to have it liked we lived in NYC. The apartment (I think they call them suites or something) had really nice furnitures, a clean and full kitchen (although we only cooked dinner once), towels, fresh sheets and all the other stuff that hotels have. Free internet, flat screen TV... all that good stuff.

We all just had so much fun and am glad I chose a special, different experience that was not a hotel and good for the whole group.
