Hell Overview

Located in the West Bay area of Georgetown on Grand Cayman Island is the tiny local hamlet of Hell. It is said that the town takes its name from the natural rock formation on the edge of the town. The rock formation is a series of short black limestone pillars, what might be called Stalagmites if they were found in a cave. An early local theorized that "This is what Hell must look like" and the name stuck, stuck luckily for their tourist trade.

The town has spawned several gift shops all capitalizing off of 'hell' and 'satan' themed memorabilia. There is even a tiny little post office that will allow you to send "Postcards from Hell" for the low low price of a stamp ( I believe it came out to about 20 some odd cents per stamp) and several stores within hopping distant eager to sell cold drinks (it does get quite hot in Hell) as well as t-shirts and postcards.

The town is easily reachable by Bus or Taxi. The bus is the cheapest option and won't leave you asking, "Where in the Hell am I?"
