Hebden Bridge Overview

Hebden Bridge is a small market town on the outskirts of Halifax, located within the borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire. It is a very picturesque town with good links to surrounding area's via the Yorkshire-Lancashire Railways and the Rochdale canal which passes through the town.

The canal was a valuable source of transport for the wool trading, for which the town was most famously known. The area became so well known for clothing manufacture it had the nickname 'Trouser town' bestowed upon it in the 19th century.

There are many attractions on offer here particularly for the keen explorers, cyclists and walkers. Nearby Hardcastle Craggs is well worth a visit. The town centre itself offers many quaint gift shops, coffee shops and fabulous scenery.
