Heathrow Vacation Guide
Heathrow Airport, is UK's and Europe's biggest airport, and also one of the biggest airports in the world alongside JFK in New York. Based 20km west of central London, Heathrow is expanding rapidly, with Terminal Five opening in 2008.
Flights come in from all around the world, you name it, it lands here.
Trains to Heathrow Airport are plentyful. Heathrow Express runs non-stop into Paddington station in central London (to connect to Bakerloo, Circle, Hammersmith and City and District lines) and takes 15 minutes. Heathrow Connect also goes to Paddington, but is a little bit slower, and stops at places like Ealing Broadway, and Southall.
The London Underground's Piccadilly line runs from here, and takes one hour to get to Kings Cross station, but it does go through the heart of central London.
Coaches and local buses to Hounslow, Windsor and Rusilip depart from the bus station here, and there is a huge influx of black cab taxis based here as well.
Heathrow Airport by car is in easy reach, the M25 and M4 runs to the airport. Also if you need to sleep overnight next to the airport, there are around 5 main hotels nearby including IBIS and ACCOR.
